W.Ø. Larsen "Super 47" Handmade Billiard - 1970s Estate
A Ruby-Hued Danish Masterpiece of Perfect Proportions
If the towering chimneys of the 1970s represent Danish grandeur, this handmade W.Ø. Larsen represents something equally coveted: absolute pocket-friendly perfection. Stamped proudly as a "Super 47," this vintage estate piece is a masterclass in classic design, combining a fluid, gently canted Billiard bowl with a gracefully tapered saddle stem. It is an ideal, lightweight clencher that begs to be taken on an afternoon walk or enjoyed with a morning coffee.
The Magic is in the Contrast
The star of the show here is the finish. The bowl features a highly tactile, tight sandblast that creates a deep texture in the hand. But it’s the colorway that stops you in your tracks: a rich, multi-layered contrast stain where dark, obsidian valleys explode into rich ruby-red crests under the light. The carver left a glassy-smooth window along the underside of the shank, beautifully highlighting the historic, crisp block stamping: Super 47 / W.Ø. Larsen / Handmade / Made in Denmark
Condition: Excellent / Restored to Perfection. This estate piece has been meticulously brought back to the pristine state it deserves. The rugged rim is entirely clean and square. The original vulcanite stem has been painstakingly polished to a mirror-like, pitch-black gloss with zero oxidation. The chamber is freshly reamed and ready for its next chapter.
Since everyone has their own preferred methods to clean and sterilise internals of the shank and stem, we have intentionally not done this.
