Originally curated as a premium house offering for Dan Pipe, the Torben Dansk "EXTRA" series features shapes sourced from top-tier Danish workshops. This Shape 113 is a stunning, lightweight variation of a slender, straight-walled Dublin, defined by its perfectly upright, stately bowl, a thin pencil shank, and an incredibly vivid high-contrast finish that makes the premium briar grain absolutely pop.
Dramatic Bird's-Eye Topography
This piece is an absolute treat for grain watchers. The left flank boasts an exceptionally tight, dense field of swirling 3D bird's-eye, while the right side and under-shank yield to a fast, elegant stream of cross and flame grain. The stem is decorated with a crisp black-and-white double trim accent band and the classic gold-inlaid Torben Dansk insignia. Leather Pouch
Curation Notes:
Condition: Very Good / Estate. A beautifully maintained smoker. The chamber is clean, and the smooth rim is in lovely condition. In the spirit of total transparency for high-end collectors, there are two tiny, micro-inclusions in the briar on the bowl, and three absolutely microscopic surface handling marks on the underside of the vulcanite stem near the lip. Under studio lighting, these are barely visible to the naked eye and have zero impact on the pipe's brilliant structural integrity.
Nomenclature: Perfectly legible on the shank : TORBEN over MADE IN DENMARK over DANSK, with EXTRA stamped just below. The shape code 113 is stamped right near the bowl transition.
Since everyone has their own preferred methods to clean and sterilise internals of the shank and stem, we have intentionally not done this.
