Rippling Ring Grain & Smooth Contrast Accents
The sandblasting on this specimen is remarkably deep and uniform. It coaxes a stunning pattern of tight, stacked concentric ring grain out across the base of the plump bowl and up its sweeping flanks. Finished in a rich charcoal-black with deep ruby undertones, the texture provides a marvelous tactile presence. In brilliant contrast, Kriswill left the very end of the round shank entirely smooth and polished, highlighting a warm briar ring that showcases the crisp factory stamping and highlights the stem transition. Condition: Excellent / Estate. This vintage piece has been exceptionally well cared for. The craggy, textured rim top is perfectly clean and free of inner charring. The chamber walls are completely sound. The nomenclature panel on the shank remains crisp, sharp, and perfectly legible: KRISWILL / CHIEF / HANDMADE IN DENMARK with the shape number 1870 sharply struck on the smooth rim accent.
Stem: The original vulcanite stem has been polished to a glass-like mirror finish, retaining its deep black luster without oxidation. Kriswill's iconic silver star/snowflake emblem is perfectly flush, crisp, and bright on the side. The smallest of wear just by the lip.
Since everyone has their own preferred methods to clean and sterilise internals of the shank and stem, we have intentionally not done this.
