Crafted on the Isle of Man during the 1970s peak of Laxey Pipes Ltd., this compact 135mm African meerschaum features a deeply textured, rustic "coral" finish paired with an iconic white “man” circle arrow logo inlaid on the vulcanite stem.
Unlike Turkish block meerschaum, vintage Tanganyika (African) meerschaum is renowned for its high density, durability, and dramatic patina development. This piece has aged brilliantly: the rim has developed a rich, dark golden-brown char and amber gradients along the upper bowl that transition gracefully into the pale, sandy-cream tones of the lower stummel. The chamber is lightly reamed and smooth, the tenon fit is snug, and the vulcanite stem retains its high-gloss, deep black polish.
