Kriswill "Bernadotte & Bjørn" Handmade Shape 12 - late 60s Estate
A Masterclass in Mid-Century Scandinavian Design Royalty
This breathtaking specimen from Kriswill is a holy grail for enthusiasts of clean, mid-century modern aesthetics. Bearing the highly collectible "Bernadotte" stamping, this line was drawn up by the legendary Swedish Prince turned design pioneer Sigvard Bernadotte, alongside his brilliant architectural partner Acton Bjørn—founders of Denmark's first true industrial design studio. Crowned with Kriswill's signature high-grade silver star emblem on the stem, this Shape 12 is directly documented in the company's historic 1969 and 1970 archives.
The Geometry of Comfort: The Triangular Shank
True to the duo's iconic design portfolio, Shape 12 is a brilliant exercise in advanced ergonomics. The shank is carved into a distinct triangular profile that contours flawlessly to the natural resting shape of the human hand, providing an incredibly tactile grip.
The straight, gently tapered bowl sweeps down into a beautifully defined, subtly rounded heel that showcases an absolute explosion of stunning grain across its base. The entire piece transitions elegantly into a sweeping, gently bent vulcanite stem, making it an incredibly balanced, lightweight clencher.
Condition: Fully Restored / Excellent. This rare piece was rescued directly from decades of storage and brought back to life on the workbench. The briar has been meticulously polished with premium carnauba to let the stunning contrast grain pop. The vulcanite stem holds a brilliant mirror-black shine, a true, beautiful mid-century workhorse ready for its second act.
Since everyone has their own preferred methods to clean and sterilise internals of the shank and stem, we have intentionally not done this.
