sold out

A literal time capsule piece for the serious collector. This is a New Old Stock (NOS), completely unsmoked masterpiece from Sven-Axel Celius, one of the brilliant pioneers of the mid-century Danish Freehand movement. Stamped Celius / Ransborg / Handmade Denmark, this piece dates back to his legendary workshop era in the 1970s.

The 'Knight 30' is a masterclass in organic, sculptural architecture. The briar possesses an extraordinary, tight straight grain that flows flawlessly up the sweeping, forward-leaning bowl, terminating in a uniquely curved, scalloped rim that showcases a dense field of beautiful birds-eye grain. The integration where the shank seamlessly flows into the elegant vulcanite saddle stem is pure sculptural poetry.

Condition Report: 9.8/10 Mint NOS Condition. This pipe has never seen a flame. The briar features its original, rich contrast finish with no fading, dings, or fills. The chamber is pristine and untouched. The original vulcanite stem is pitch black, crisp, and shows only an absolute minimum of fading at the lip, extremely light and only about 1 mm wide.

Curation Notes: Finding a vintage Celius in estate condition is a treat; finding one in pristine, unsmoked NOS condition is an absolute rarity. An iconic piece of Danish high-grade history that feels magnificent in the hand and serves as a premier centerpiece for any collection.
