Butz-Choquin Millesime 1989 - New Old Stock
An Unsmoked Collector's Piece Featuring Deep Contrast Rustication, Warm Natural Briar Accents, and Inlaid Sterling Details
The Architecture & French Craftsmanship The Millesime annual Pipe of the Year releases from Saint-Claude represent Butz-Choquin's highest creative expression. This 1989 edition showcases a sweeping, organic bent profile with heavy, dark rustication across the stummel, beautifully balanced by a smooth, flame-grained rim stained in a rich cognac tone. The contrast continues along the shank bottom, where a smooth polished oval displays the hand-stamped maker’s mark, alongside a sterling silver inset badge engraved with the year 1989. Finished with a matching smooth briar accent ring and a comfortable acrylic stem, this piece balances dramatic texture with refined French elegance.
Curation Notes:
Condition: New Old Stock (NOS) / Unsmoked. The chamber is factory-fresh, clean, and unsmoked. The rim, rustication, and smooth grain panels are in pristine original condition. The stem is flawless with zero chatter or wear.
Nomenclature: Crisp stamping on the smooth shank panel: Butz Choquin over MILLESIME 805. The upper shank side features an inlaid silver plate stamped 1989. The shank collar reads ST CLAUDE FRANCE.
Inclusions: Original BC pouch included.
Since everyone has their own preferred methods to clean and sterilise internals of the shank and stem, we have intentionally not done this.
