Stanwell Straight Grain Freehand (Regd. No. 969-48 Era) - Estate

sold out

Sculptural Danish Mastery in Solid Briar.

An extraordinary vintage Stanwell Freehand, crafted in Denmark during the golden age of Danish factory pipe making. Stamped with the coveted Regd. No. 969-48, this piece is a testament to the revolutionary design language pioneered by Sixten Ivarsson and his Danish contemporaries. It features a bold, almost triangular bowl profile that sits naturally in the hand, wrapped in tight, fiery straight grain sweeping dramatically up toward a deeply craggy, raw plateau rim.

The craftsmanship extends seamlessly into the shank, where a extension of matching stem material has been fused to the briar in a flawless transition. This flows directly into a custom multi-grooved vulcanite mouthpiece bearing the classic Crowned 'S' stamp. At a substantial 77 grams with a thick-walled 22mm chamber, it offers an exceptionally cool, long smoking experience paired with heirloom-level aesthetic presence.
