Measuring a tiny 10cm, this stubby Pocket Billiard/Lovat hybrid is a brilliant example of mid-century French utility engineering. Produced in Saint-Claude by master pipemaker Jean Lacroix—a celebrated member of the prestigious Confrérie des Maîtres-Pipiers—it was crafted as a contract piece stamped "Hamilton" for trade distribution.
The pipe combines a deep mahogany finish with a hallmarked nickel band stamped JEAN LACROIX saint claude. Designed specifically as a quick-smoke pocket companion, its thick-walled bowl resists overheating while the featherlight vulcanite saddle stem allows for an effortless clench.
Curation Notes:
Condition: New Old Stock (NOS / Unsmoked). Unsmoked chamber and structurally perfect. Shows surface handling/storage marks acquired across decades of box storage, giving it an honest, authentic patina.
Nomenclature: Crisp oval stamp reading HAMILTON over OLD BRIAR on the shank flank; nickel band stamped JEAN LACROIX saint claude.
