W.O. Larsen 130th Anniversary Limited Edition No. 214 - New Old Stock
Unsmoked New Old Stock Handmade Danish Dublin/Brandy with Hallmarked Sterling Silver Collar, Original Hang Tags, and Pouch
The Architecture & Danish Modern Heritage
Founded in 1864 at Amagertorv 9 in the heart of Copenhagen, W.O. Larsen grew into the preeminent temple of Danish pipe-making. In the 1960s, Larsen established an legendary in-house workshop that served as the launching pad for masters like Poul Ilsted, Jess Chonowitsch, Teddy Knudsen, and Hans "Former" Nielsen. Released in 1994 to celebrate 130 years of operations, this limited anniversary series represents one of the final chapters of true hand-cut, workshop-made Larsen briars before the transition to factory production.
It features a majestic Danish Dublin/Brandy hybrid silhouette—boasting a generous flare toward a smooth-crowned rim, a subtle posture, and a seamless transition into a round shank capped by a thick sterling silver collar. The briar exhibits spectacular 360-degree flame grain and tight birds-eye, highlighted by an ultra-vibrant contrast stain.
Curation Notes:
Condition: Mint Unsmoked New Old Stock. Features factory-fresh carbon bowl coating, pristine rim condition, and zero handling marks or oxidation. Accompanied by original hang-tag certificate signed/numbered "214" and W.O. Larsen cloth pouch. (Original presentation box not included).
Nomenclature: Shank underside hand-stamped 214 over W.O. LARSEN, HANDMADE, MADE IN DENMARK. Heavy sterling silver band stamped 1864 / 1994 on one flank, silver hallmarks (925S), and the iconic W.O. Larsen crest on the opposite side.
