Georg Jensen "Tann" Sandblasted (Shape T143) — 1970s New Old Stock
A Flawless, Unsmoked Time-Capsule Masterpiece Showcasing Deep Bark-Textured "Tann" Blasting and a Complex Four-Panel Sculpted Stem
The Architecture & Sculpted Bit
Carved with a bold, freehand-inspired Danish aesthetic, this Georg Jensen T143 is an exceptional form. The bowl features a muscular, organic flare that widens toward a thick, softly rounded rim before sweeping back into a highly sculpted heel. The true focal point of its engineering is the striking vulcanite saddle stem. The stem begins with a perfectly turned circular junction to meet the flush-fit round shank, then dramatically shifts into an elegant, crisp four-panel diamond geometry that tapers elegantly toward the comfortable lip button.
The stummel is dressed in Jensen's coveted "Tann" finish—a beautifully tactile, deep sandblast that draws out an exquisite canvas of tight ring grain along the flanks, contrasted by a dense cluster of pebble-like birdseye on the alternate panel. Kept in a vibrant, warm auburn-tan contrast finish, this piece stands entirely unsmoked and pristine.
Curation Notes:
Condition: Flawless New Old Stock (NOS). The raw briar chamber is completely unsmoked, the rim is immaculate, and the intricate vulcanite saddle stem retains its stark, jet-black factory gloss with zero oxidation.
Nomenclature: Stamped with sharp definition across the smooth under-shank panel: Left bears the classic GEORG JENSEN over MADE IN DENMARK hallmark. Right features the distinct Tann grading and the T143 factory shape code. The stem carries the classic white "GJ" logo stamp cleanly near the collar.
