Georg Jensen Pipe of the Year 2000 - New Old Stock
A Pristine, New-Old-Stock Time Capsule from the Historic Final Year of Copenhagen’s Legendary Studio
For collectors of high-tier Scandinavian design, this Georg Jensen Year Pipe 2000 is a spectacular, museum-grade piece of history. Remaining entirely New Old Stock (NOS) and unsmoked, this annual masterpiece represents the absolute final curtain call of the iconic Copenhagen workshop, which permanently ceased operations just a year later in 2001.
The Architecture & Dual-Texture Artistry
Crafted with stunning millennial aesthetic vision, the stummel is an incredibly sleek billiard. True to the peak of Danish freehand artistry, the bowl features a dual-texture finish designed to highlight the briar’s natural character. The front face, rear spine, and flat underbelly of the shank are buffed to a mirror-smooth, high-gloss honey finish that boasts exceptional cross-grain. In stark, dramatic contrast, the flanks of the bowl are deeply sandblasted and stained in a rich, dark walnut tone.
Rather than a standard shank extension, the carver seamlessly integrated a polished brass accent band directly onto the tenon junction of the hand-cut vulcanite saddle stem, creating a striking, floating metallic break when assembled.
Curation Notes:
Condition: Vault Mint / New Old Stock. Completely unsmoked, unlit, and factory-fresh. The briar chamber is pristine, and the vulcanite stem is a rich, polished jet-black. Comes complete with its original cardboard Georg Jensen presentation tube.
Nomenclature: Stamped with crisp, absolute clarity along the smooth oval shank: Left side carries GEORG JENSEN, right side carries 2000, and the underbelly is struck with MADE IN DENMARK.
