BBB 'Victorian' 420 S Quarter-Bent Bulldog - Estate
For collectors of historic British briar, this BBB Victorian 420 S is an absolute jaw-dropper. While classic London Bulldogs are typically found in dark, traditional walnut tones, this rare piece from the Victorian series boasts an extraordinary, vivid "peachy" marbled finish. The high-contrast stain reveals a stunning, luminous bird's eye galaxy on the flanks of the bowl and tight, sweeping flame grain along the base and diamond shank.
The 420 S is a textbook execution of the classic English quarter-bent Bulldog, sporting crisp dual accent grooves around the bowl's equator, a robust diamond-profile shank, and a perfectly balanced tapered stem. The under-shank stamping is completely pristine and factory-sharp: BBB (inside the classic diamond logo) VICTORIAN, LONDON ENGLAND, and the shape number 420 S. The stem proudly displays the iconic inlaid metal BBB diamond insignia.
Condition Report: This pipe appears to have been smoked perhaps only once or twice in its lifetime. The rim is completely clean and crisp with zero darkening or rounding. The vulcanite stem is mirror-black, perfectly tight, and entirely free of oxidation or tooth marks. A vibrant, near-mint museum piece from one of England's oldest and most prestigious marques.
